Advice to students:

“Work hard and get your work done. Learning to work hard early really pays off in the long run. Having the discipline to keep working hard and goof off is good but don’t forget to schedule timeto goof off because you’ll need that for a full life and a good experience."

What has KKHS done for you?

I always loved art and drew for fun, but at King Kekaulike I began my formal art education. I didn't know what I wanted to do in life--just that I wanted to do something creative--so being able to explore a variety of arts set the foundation for my eventual career as a professional photographer. Like many other KKHS alumni, I can also credit Mrs. Weeks' AP U.S. History and AP Psychology classes for preparing me to learn how to work hard and at the highest quality, a standard I still hold myself to.

Favorite HS Memory:

My favorite high school memories are the days I spent with friends during the after-school Drama Club play rehearsals. Being surrounded by passionate, creative individuals working together to achieve a common vision was so inspiring. That experience helped break me out of my shell, giving me the confidence to continue my creative endeavors through college and later on in my career.
